Broadway News Video: See Michael James Scott, Adi Roy, and the Company of Aladdin Perform at the Disney Christmas Celebration

The hit musical continues at the New Amsterdam Theatre on Broadway.

Michael James Scott, Adi Roy, and members of the Broadway and North American touring companies of Aladdin spread some holiday cheer at ABC's Disney Christmas Celebration with a performance of "Friend Like Me."

Held at the Magic Kingdom Park of Orlando's Disney World, the festive event also included floats featuring Disney characters, marching bands, stars of the stage and screen, and more. The event is now available for streaming on Hulu and Disney+. 

Aladdin will celebrate its 10th anniversary at Broadway's New Amsterdam Theatre in spring 2024. The production opened March 20, 2014, after beginning previews February 26 with music by Alan Menken, a book by Chad Beguelin, and lyrics by Menken, Beguelin, and Tim Rice

The current Broadway cast features Michael Maliakel as Aladdin, Scott as the Genie, Sonya Balsara as Jasmine, and Dennis Stowe as Jafar. Roy leads the North American touring company in the title role. 

Casey Nicholaw serves as director and choreographer. The production also features scenic design by Bob Crowley; costume design by Gregg Barnes; lighting design by Natasha Katz; sound design by Ken Travis; makeup design by Milagros Medina-Cerdeira; hair design by Josh Marquette; orchestrations by Danny Troob; dance music arrangements by Glen Kelly; illusion design by Jim Steinmeyer; special effects design by Jeremy Chernick; fight direction by J. Allen Suddeth; and music supervision, incidental music, and vocal arrangements by Michael Kosarin
