The Toronto theatre will present 14 productions, including three Off-Mirvish offerings.

Toronto's Mirvish Theatre has revealed their 2022-2023 season, which will include six mainstage shows, three Off-Mirvish productions, and five bonus productions.

Starting in the fall, the main season will launch with Ian Shaw and Joseph Nixon's Olivier-nominated comedy The Shark is Broken. Based on what really happened behind the scenes on the film set of Jaws, it will make its North American premiere at Royal Alexandra Theatre. The announcement of the work's North American premiere comes as a separate musical also tracking the making of Jaws, titled Bruce, makes its world premiere at Seattle Rep, currently performing through July 3.

Featuring a book by Tina Fey, with music by Jeff Richmond, and lyrics by Nell Benjamin, Broadway's Mean Girls will play the Princess of Wales Theatre for its Toronto premiere beginning October, 2022, with specific dates to be announced.

Amanda Whittington's Fisherman's Friends: The Musical, based on a true story and film of the same name, will make its North American premiere with the original U.K. cast at Royal Alexandra Theatre beginning in November.

Next up is David Haig's new drama Pressure, based on the planning of the D-Day invasion, will make its Canadian premiere at the Royal Alexandra Theatre in January, 2023. 

Touring productions of Broadway's Hamilton and Hadestown round out the main line-up. Lin-Manuel Miranda's Hamilton is set to begin performances in Princess of Wales Theatre starting in February 2023, and Anaïs Mitchell's Hadestown will play Royal Alexandra Theatre beginning in July.

As part of the Off-Mirvish season, Studio 180 Theatre will present Paula Vogel's Tony-winning play Indecent as part of its 20th Anniversary season. The show's Toronto premiere, directed by Joel Greenberg, will begin performances in October. Starring will be Matt Baram, Dmitry Chepovetsky, Broadway alum Jake Epstein, Jessica Greenberg, Tracy Michailidis, Dov Mickelson, Sarah Orenstein, Emilyn Stam, and John David Williams.

Andrew Bovell's Things I Know to be True, directed by Philip Riccio, will make its Canadian premiere starring Tom McCamus and Seana McKenna. The Company Theatre co-production will run at CAA Theatre beginning in January, 2023. Crow's Theatre's production of Cliff Cardinal's As You Like It, or The Land Acknowledgment, will take to the CAA Theatre stage in March, 2023. 

Bonus shows include Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, currently in previews; Tim Rice's Jesus Christ Superstar (August 10-21); Mike Delamont's satirical God is a Scottish Drag Queen (July 29-31); Chase Padgett's love letter to music, 6 Guitars (August 2-7); and Toronto premiere of Jagged Little Pill (June 27-July 3).
