The U.K. tour of the new stage adaptation of The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel begins September 5 at the Richmond Theatre. Lucy Bailey (Oleanna, Gaslight) directs.

The cast is led by Hayley Mills (The Parent Trap, Whistle Down the Wind) as Evelyn, Paul Nicholas (Jesus Christ Superstar, Eastenders) as Douglas, Rula Lenska (Rock Follies, Coronation Street) as Madge, Tiran Aakel (The Kite Runner) as Mr. Gupta, Richenda Carey (Calendar Girls) as Dorothy, Rekha John-Cheriyan (Kerbs) as Mrs. KapoorAndy de la Tour (Plenty) as NormanShila Iqbal (East Is East) as Sahani, Kerena Jagpal (Mismatch and Twitch) as Kamila, Harmage Singh Kalirai (Mischief Night) as Jimmy, Sally Knyvette (Emmerdale) as Jean, Nishad More (King Lear) as Sonny Kapoor, Marlene Sidaway (Coronation Street) as Muriel, and Anant Varman as Mohan with Adam Morris (Dial M for Murder) and Julie Wood (Brave New World) as understudies.

This initial company is scheduled to tour through February 11, 2023.

Deborah Moggach has adapted her 2004 best-selling novel These Foolish Things, which also inspired the BAFTA- and Golden Globe-nominated film starring Judi Dench, Bill Nighy, Maggie Smith, Penelope Wilson, Tom Wilkinson, Celie Imrie, Ronald Pickup, and Dev Patel.

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel takes audiences on a journey to India with a group of British retirees as they embark on a new life. The residence is far from the opulence they were promised, but as their lives begin to intertwine and they embrace the vibrancy of modern-day India, they are charmed in unexpected ways.

The production also has set and costume design by Colin Richmond, lighting design by Oli Fenwick, sound design by Mic Pool, music by composer Kuljit Bhamra, casting by Ginny Schille, associate direction by Breman Rajkumar, movement direction by Lucy Hind, costume supervision by Chris Cahill, production management by Digby Robinson, props supervision by Lizzie Frankl, and associate prop supervision by Zoe Wilson.
