As part of its Pride Month celebration, Joe’s Pub in New York is showcasing singer-comedian and self-described “bad decision expert” Tori Scott in her solo show Making America Gay Again!, June 24 at 7 PM.

In her second annual Pride show, Scott narrates her trouble-prone personal life with original mashups of songs popularized by Michael Jackson, Judy Garland, Beyoncé, and other singers of several generations. In a show co-written with Playbill’s Adam Hetrick, Scott promises to take audiences on “a shameless journey that celebrates a few of [her] favorite things: stiff drinks, bad decisions and the gays who enable her.”

The Joe’s Pub concert is directed by Seth Sklar-Heyn, with music direction by Jesse Kissel. Scott will be backed by Mat Fieldes on bass and Dan Weiner on drums.

Joe’s Pub is part of the Public Theatre complex on Lafayette Street in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village. Tickets for Making America Gay Again! are $20 each and can be purchased online at JoesPub.org or by phone at (212) 967-7555.

Scott recently appeared at Joe’s Pub with another of her solo shows, Plan B! , which lends its title to her new CD, Plan B! Live at Joe’s Pub, scheduled for release July 7 at 10 AM ET.

After the Joe’s Pub gig, Scott is planning to take her one-woman show Thirsty! on an international tour. She describes Thirsty! as “a shameless musical journey of slurred autobiographical stories, featuring the music of Aretha Franklin, Judy Garland, Miley Cyrus and more.” She “invites audiences to join her as she celebrates poor life choices and an unconditional love of vodka in a cabaret where the vocals are legit, the thirst is real, and the stories are, tragically, all true.”

Here is the Thirsty! itinerary:

July 8-9 The Art House, Provincetown, Massachusetts
July 10 Town Hall, Provincetown, Massachusetts, with RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Bianca Del Rio.
July 17 The Blue Moon, Rehoboth Beach, Delaware
July 26 The Marlborough Theatre, Brighton U.K.
July 29–30 Live at Zédel, London, U.K.
