2023's calendar features Kelvin Moon Loh, Kennedy Kanagawa, Zachary Noah Piser, and more.

The 2023 Broadway Asian Men Calendar is now available for the third year in a row. Watch the video above to get a look at this year's centerfolds, and to hear their reflections on what it means to be an Asian man in the entertainment industry.

Spearheaded by photographer Mari Uchida, the calendar uplifts male Asian actors in order to dispel negative stereotypes pushed upon Asian men throughout the media at large. The 15 month calendar, which spans from January 2023 to March 2024, also serves as a fundraiser for Think!Chinatown, an intergenerational nonprofit organization that helps to connect the arts and Manhattan's Chinatown neighborhood.

“I want those looking at the calendar to feel that every guy is the hero to his own story, and each person is a nuanced, multi-dimensional, attractive human being. This calendar is my way of celebrating Asian beauty and joy, and the artists who inspire the world to be a kinder place,” said Uchida.

The 2023 calendar includes photographs and quotes from 13 Broadway performers; Zachary Noah Piser (KPOP), John Yi (KPOP), Nehal Joshi (Phantom of the Opera), Matthew Yee (Almost Famous), Sam Simahk (Into the Woods), Kevin Trinio Perdido (Almost Famous), Nico DeJesus (& Juliet), Joomin Hwang (& Juliet), Albert Guerzon (Into the Woods), James Seol (Come From Away), Kelvin Moon Loh (Beetlejuice), Kennedy Kanagawa (Into the Woods), and Jeigh Madjus (Moulin Rouge).

"The thing about being an Asian man on Broadway, if there are any issues, it's that you start to feel alone. There's not as many opportunities for me, nobody sees me as the leading man romantic type, it's always like 'you're the sidekick!' or something else like that. At some point you have to have your own agency to say 'no, I can be the central character, I can be the titular character'. I belong here," said Moon Loh.
