News The Unauthorized O.C. Musical Finds Its Core Four From the creators of Cruel Intentions: The Musical, comes The Unauthorized O.C. Musical, based on the popular hit TV series that ran for four seasons and concluded in 2007. The stage show, which has now cast its central characters according to Entertainment Weekly, will be performed for one night only in Los Angeles.

The Unauthorized O.C. Musical will play the Federal Bar in L.A. on Aug. 30.

EW reports that in the role of Ryan will be "Nashville" actor Tilky Jones; Molly McCook, currently performing in Cruel Intentions will play Marissa Cooper; "Pretty Little Liars"' Brendan Robinson will be Seth Cohen and Greer Grammer, from "Awkward" will play Summer.

As previously announced on the show's Facebook page, original "O.C." star Autumn Reeser will also be featured among the cast, in the role of Marissa's mother, Julie Cooper. The principal cast is completed with Rick Consett as Sandy Cohen, Drew Seeley as Luke Ward, Christine Lakin as Kirsten Cohen and Jarett Wieselman as Josh Schwartz.

The Unauthorized O.C. Musical is co-created by Jordan Ross and Lindsey Rosin. Rather than attempting to condense four seasons worth of material into one musical, the creators have decided to focus on the pilot episode, in which bad boy Ryan arrives to Newport and falls for Marissa. The musical will also draw on music from all four seasons.

"We both really loved the television show. It’s the voice of our generation," Ross told EW. "The Unauthorized O.C. Musical comes from the fact that we just love this television show just as much as everybody else does." For more information visit UnauthorizedOCMusical.
