Following a cancelled opening night and brief hiatus on Broadway, The Collaboration resumes performances December 26. Performances between December 21 and December 25 were cancelled due to a case of COVID-19 within the company.
Previews of the Anthony McCarten-penned play began at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre November 30. Despite the cancellation of opening night, the production has officially opened and reviews were released, with critics having been invited to earlier performances. Read reviews here. Prior to opening night, the production extended its run, with a new closing date set for January 29, 2023.
Coming to New York via Manhattan Theatre Club, the work made its world premiere at London's Young Vic earlier this year. Its London stars bring the show to Broadway, with Jeremy Pope and Paul Bettany starring as artists Jean-Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol, respectively. They're joined by Krysta Rodriguez as Maya and Erik Jensen as Bruno Bischofberger. The company is rounded out by understudies Matthew Griffin and Amaia Arana.
