Broadway's Shucked shared via Instagram story on Wednesday that the production would pause their usual post-show stage door meet and greets. "In an abundance of caution all post-show stage door activities at Shucked have been paused until further notice," the post read. "We appreciate your support and can't wait to see you at the Nederlander soon." 

The announcement was made among rising COVID-19 cases in New York City. Nearly 700 cases were reported in mid-August, although the number appears to be lower than summer increases in 2022 and 2021. 

Shucked received nine Tony nominations at the 2023 awards, and Alex Newell won the award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for their performance as Lulu. The production also stars Caroline Innerbichler as Maizy, John Behlmann as Gordy, Kevin Cahoon as Peanut, Andrew Durand as Beau, Ashley D. Kelley as Storyteller 1, and Grey Henson as Storyteller 2.

They're joined by an ensemble including Jimmy Brewer, Audrey Cardwell, Dwayne Clark, Rheaume Crenshaw, Jaygee Macapugay, Scott Stangland, Yasmeen Sulieman, and Quinn VanAntwerp, rounded out by swings Miki Abraham, Ken Wulf Clark, Traci Elaine Lee, and Alan Wiggins.

Shucked features music by Brandy Clark and Shane McAnally, choreography by Sarah O'Gleby, and music supervision, music direction, orchestrations, and arrangements by Jason Howland. Scenic design is by Scott Pask, costume design is by Tilly Grimes, lighting design is by Japhy Weideman, sound design by John Shivers, and wig design by Mia Neal. John Miller is the music coordinator, Billy Jay Stein and Hiro Iida of Strange Cranium designed the electronic music, and Juniper Street Productions handles production management.
