Some Like It Hot is going on the road. The previously announced national tour is set to launch September 20 at Schenectady, New York's Proctors Theatre, and full casting has been revealed.

Matt Loehr and Tavis Kordell will lead the company as Joe/Josephine and Jerry/Daphne, respectively, along with Leandra Ellis-Gaston as Sugar, Edward Juvier as Osgood, Tarra Conner Jones as Sweet Sue, Jamie LaVerdiere as Mulligan, Devon Goffman as Spats, and Devon Hadsell as Minnie.

Rounding out the company will be Ayla Allen, Ashley Marie Arnold, Kelly Berman, Darien Crago, Drew Franklin, Tim Fuchs, Rachael Britton Hart, Devin Holloway, Bryan Thomas Hunt, Emily Kelly, Brianna Kim, Stephen Michael Langton, Jay Owens, Ranease Ryann, Nissi Shalome, Michael Skrzek, and Tommy Sutter.

Based on the 1959 film of the same name, Some Like It Hot features a book by The Inheritance Tony winner Matthew López and Amber Ruffin and a score by Hairspray's Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, with the former providing music and both contributing lyrics. Tony winner Casey Nicholaw directs and choreographs. The Broadway bow, which was nominated for 13 2023 Tony Awards, opened December 11, 2022, and closed December 30, 2023.

Inspired by the French film Fanfare of Love, Some Like It Hot follows two Prohibition-era jazz musicians in Chicago (played on screen by Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon), who witness a mob hit and go into hiding by disguising themselves as members of an all-female band. Through their escape plot, the two become enamored with the band's singer and ukulele player, Sugar, played on screen by Marilyn Monroe. The film was previously adapted for the stage as the 1972 musical Sugar, with a score by Jule Styne and Bob Merrill and a book by Peter Stone.

Nicholaw has reassembled his Broadway creative team for the upcoming tour, including music supervisors Mary-Mitchell Campbell and Darryl Archibald, scenic designer Scott Pask, costume designer Gregg Barnes, lighting designer Natasha Katz, sound designer Brian Ronan, hair designer Josh Marquette, and make-up designer Milagros Medina-Cerdeira. The Tony-winning orchestrations are by Charlie Rosen and Bryan Carter, with vocal arrangements by Shaiman, dance and incidental music arrangements by Glen Kelly, and music coordination by Kristy Norter. The production is cast by The Telsey Office. Andrew Bacigalupo will serve as production stage manager.

The national tour is being produced by The Shubert Organization and Neil Meron, and co-produced by Hunter Arnold, Roy Furman, John Gore Organization, James L. Nederlander, The Dalgleish Library Company Group, Cue to Cue Productions, Sandy Robertson, Sheboygan Conservatory Partners, ATG Productions, Bob Boyett, Janet and Marvin Rosen, The Araca Group, Concord Theatricals, and Independent Presenters Network. D. S. Moynihan is executive producer.
