Past Broadway Bares performers, who are currently starring in various Broadway shows, gathered at the Actors Equity Building to snap a photo May 23. This year, twice as many Broadway actors are slated to perform than in 2017. The big show is set for June 17 at Hammerstein Ballroom for two performances at 9:30PM and midnight.
Broadway Bares will also return to Fire Island June 2 with performances at 7 PM and 9 PM at Whyte Hall's Brandon Fradd Theater in Fire Island Pines.
To date, the 27 editions of Broadway Bares, originally created by Tony winner Jerry Mitchell, have raised more than $17.4 million for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is one of the nation’s leading industry-based, nonprofit AIDS fundraising and grant-making organizations. By drawing upon the talents, resources, and generosity of the American theatre community, since 1988 BC/EFA has raised more than $300 million for essential services for people with AIDS and other critical illnesses across the United States.
