The special post-show performance marked "Back to the Future Day" in London.

"Back to the Future Day"—which marks the date that Doc Brown and Marty McFly traveled to in 2015 in Back to the Future II—was celebrated at Back to the Future on both sides of the pond. Broadway got a special appearance from Back to the Future film star Harry Water Jr., but the London original got a post-show performance of "Time Travel Is a Dangerous Thing," a cut song from the Alan Silvestri-Glen Ballard score. Watch above.

The song is one of several tunes included as bonus tracks in the newly released deluxe edition of the Back to the Future The Musical London cast album, which is now available. The two-CD set features 13 new tracks of demos performed by Glen Ballard, offering alternate and early versions of the musical's songs.

Based on the Universal Pictures/Amblin Entertainment film, the musical, which opened in London September 13, 2021, has a book by Bob Gale and new music and lyrics by Emmy and Grammy winner Alan Silvestri and six-time Grammy winner Glen Ballard, with additional songs from the film, including "The Power of Love" and "Johnny B. Goode." The musical continues its run at the Adelphi Theatre.

The cast is currently led by Cory English as Doctor Emmett Brown, Ben Joyce as Marty McFly, Oliver Nicholas as George McFly, Sophie Naglik as Jennifer Parker, Sarah Goggin as Lorraine Baines, Jay Perry as Goldie Wilson, Jordan Pearson as Biff Tannen, Lee Ormsby as Strickland, Rhodri Watkins as Dave McFly, and Patricia Wilkins as Linda McFly. Elliott Evans is the Marty alternate and Stephen Leask is the Emmett Brown alternate.

The production is directed by Tony winner John Rando with set and costume design by Tim Hatley, lighting design by Tim Lutkin, lighting consulting by Hugh Vanstone, sound design by Gareth Owen, video design by Finn Ross, choreography by Chris Bailey, musical supervision and arrangements by Nick Finlow, illusions by Chris Fisher, orchestrations by Ethan Popp and Bryan Crook, and dance arrangements by David Chase. Casting is by David Grindrod Associates.
