Sara Jean Ford (The Phantom of the Opera, A Little Night Music) takes to the stage September 22 for An Evening With the Aging Ingénue at The Green Room 42. The veteran soprano will sing songs from across her career of roles that she has now grown out of.
Hosted by her fictional alter ego Claire Cook, the Broadway starlette—now all grown up—will share stories from her new reality as an aging actor and mother, songs that she is now "far too old to sing," and secrets she is far too comfortable sharing. With songs from Andrew Lloyd Webber, Tim Minchin, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Charles Strouse, and Stephen Schwartz, Ford (as Cook) will sing a variety of saccharine sweet songs with the gravitas of a veteran performer with over four decades of experience onstage.
Cameron Dingwall will direct the evening, with music direction by David Hancock Turner. Two special guests will also take to the stage: Georgia Mendes and Andrea Jones-Sojola.
The performance begins at 7 PM. For tickets and more information, visit here.
