Broadway's Macbeth officially opens its limited engagement April 28 at the Longacre Theatre. Starring Daniel Craig in the title role and Ruth Negga as the relentless Lady Macbeth, Tony winner Sam Gold directs the production.
The production takes the stage after interruptions to previews earlier this month due to positive COVID cases within the company which even led to Gold stepping into the cast for a performance.
Joining Craig and Negga in the cast are Tony nominees Maria Dizzia and Amber Gray, Phillip James Brannon, Grantham Coleman, Asia Kate Dillon, Emeka Guindo, Paul Lazar, Bobbi MacKenzie, Michael Patrick Thornton, and Danny Wolohan. The ensemble includes Che Ayende, Eboni Flowers, and Peter Smith. Stevie Ray Dallimore serves as standby for the title role.
Negga, Dillon, Guindo, Lazar, Smith, and Thornton are all making Broadway debuts. The production has also partnered to lower the financial barrier for students to see the Broadway show with the Macbeth 2022: Ticket Initiative.
