Rockers on Broadway Set to Rewind to the 80's at Le Poisson Rouge | Playbill

News Rockers on Broadway Set to Rewind to the 80's at Le Poisson Rouge This year's Rockers on Broadway benefit concert from the Path Fund will be 80's themed, taking place Nov. 9 at downtown venue Le Poisson Rouge. The line-up for the 22nd annual event, which features Broadway's best rock performers, will be announced shortly.

"From the totally tubular neon clothes and teased hair," state press notes, "to the outrageous politics, giant computers, boom boxes and, of course...the unforgettable music," the concert is set to feature the biggest hits in rock'n'roll from the 80's, including pop, new wave, heavy metal, rap, techno pop and charity rock.

All proceeds from the evening benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA) and non-profit performing arts education programs.

The first Rockers On Broadway was held in spring 1993 at the China Club on 75th St. It featured the cast of the Tony-winning Broadway rock musical The Who's Tommy along with the show's creator and rock legend, Pete Townshend, as well as Joe Walsh, Linda Perry and Eddie Vedder.

The PATH Fund (Performing Artists That Help) is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to raising money for charities that benefit arts and entertainment organizations.

Tickets will go on sale Sept. 11 and are available at Le Poisson Rouge Box office at 158 Bleecker St., or online at LePoissonRouge. For more information on the event, visit RockresonBroadway.
