The Lonely Few will be in town for a bit longer. Off-Broadway's MCC Theater has announced that the new musical—featuring music and lyrics by Zoe Sarnak and a book by Rachel Bonds—will now run an extra week. It will now play through June 9. Read what critics had to say here.
The Lonely Few is a queer love story between two musicians: Lila (Tony winner Lauren Patten) and Amy (Taylor Iman Jones). Lila has a band called the Lonely Few, who have a standing gig at Paul's Juke Joint in Kentucky. Sparks fly when an established musician, Amy, gives the Lonely Few a chance to join her on tour.
Trip Cullman and Ellenore Scott direct a cast that also includes Damon Daunno, Peter Mark Kendall, Helen J. Shen, and Thomas Silcott. Billy Cohen, Christine Dwyer, DeWitt Fleming Jr, Taloria Merricks, and Rose Van Dyne serve as understudies.
