Reviews are coming in for the world premiere of J.T. Rogers' Corruption, which officially opened March 11 at Lincoln Center Theater's Off-Broadway Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater.
Tony winner Bartlett Sher directs the new work about a 2011 phone-hacking scandal in the British news media. Based on the book Dial M for Murdoch: News Corporation and The Corruption of Britain by Tom Watson and Martin Hickman, the play tells the true story of Parliament member Tom Watson fighting back against Murdoch’s News International after a smear campaign. In the process, he uncovers criminal practices of the media giant.
The ensemble cast includes Dylan Baker, John Behlmann, Saffron Burrows, Anthony Cochrane, Sanjit De Silva, K. Todd Freeman, Eleanor Handley, Robyn Kerr, Sepideh Moafi, Seth Numrich, Michael Siberry, T. Ryder Smith, and Toby Stephens.
