Steppenwolf's Samuel D. Hunter world premiere, Little Bear Ridge Road, officially opened at the Chicago theatre June 23, and the critics have spoken.
Previews began June 13, with the already extended run set to continue through August 4. Joe Mantello is directing.
Laurie Metcalf leads the company as Sarah, sharing the stage with John Drea as James and Kenny, Meighan Gerachis as Paulette and Vicki, and Micah Stock as Ethan. Rounding out the company are understudies Chad Bay, Mara Casey, Mary Beth Fisher, and Evan Mulrooney.

The play follows the Fernsby family in rural Idaho as an estranged aunt and nephew reunite following the passing of a family patriarch.
The production features scenic design by Scott Pask, costume design by Jessica Pabst, lighting design by Heather Gilbert, and sound design by Mikhail Fiksel. Patrick Zakem is serving as creative producer, with Tom Pearl as producing director, Laura D. Glenn as production stage manager and Jaclynn Joslin as assistant stage manager. Casting is by JC Clementz.
