Neil Simon's Plaza Suite is a hit in the West End! Following a successful 2022 Broadway revival, the production, starring Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker, transferred to London's Savoy Theatre. Initially slated to close March 31, the limited engagement has announced an extension through April 13.
John Benjamin Hickey, who helmed the production both on Broadway and its previous Boston run, continues to direct for the West End. Performances at the Savoy began January 17.
Real-life couple Broderick and Parker play three different twosomes each spending an evening in the famed Plaza Hotel: one couple dealing with difficulties in their marriage on their 24th anniversary, a pair of high-school sweethearts reuniting after many years apart, and the frenzied parents of a jittery bride on her wedding day.
Broderick and Parker are joined onstage by Charlie Oscar, Eric Sirakian, and Rohit Gokani. The company also includes standbys Nick Barclay and Caroline Sheen, and understudies Jamie Coyne and Hannah Morrison.
The production features a set design by John Lee Beatty, costume design by Jane Greenwood, lighting design by Brian MacDevitt, sound design by Scott Lehrer, original music by Marc Shaiman, and casting by Jim Carnahan.
