Not surprisingly, more than a few Playbill.com readers were enthused at the notion of seeing Meryl Streep herself reprise the role on Broadway. Streep, who has not been seen on a Broadway stage since 1977, has taken on a number of singing film roles lately, including the hit film adaptation of the Stephen Sondheim classic, "Into the Woods" as the Witch, and as Ricki, rock'n'roll band singer and mother in "Ricki and The Flash." Scott Ponsford: Glenn Close

Jeffrey Karasarides: Glenn Close!

Barbara Anderson Goldstein: Glenn Close

Fans of the television series "Damages" know that Glenn Close isn't one to shy away from authoritative characters. The show's Patty Hewes would give Miranda Priestly a run for her money, not to mention her high-fashion, Tony-winning turn as Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard. The Academy Award winning star currently stars as Queen Elizabeth II in The Audience on Broadway, a role which has seen her nominated for a 2015 Tony Award. Mirren won the Oscar for playing the role in the film "The Queen." Whilst she has been nominated for a Tony Award on three occasions, she is yet to win.

Maggie Leigh Walker: Christine Baranski!!! YAS. She's the only one besides Meryl that I can see pulling off that role.

Patty LaPointe: Baranski! A lot depends on the score.

Following her recent portrayal of Cinderella's evil stepmother in the film adaptation of "Into the Woods," it's easy to imagine Christine Baranski tackling a role such as "the Devil" in "The Devil Wears Prada."
