Annually, Broadway Salutes honors theatre professionals who have worked for 25, 35 and over 50 years on Broadway. The celebration pays tribute to actors, agents, ushers, publicists, stagehands, dressers, orchestrators, stage managers and the many other essential roles played in the running of a Broadway show.

The event was hosted by Broadway vet Neuwirth and helmed by Beautiful director Marc Bruni. It was presented by The Broadway League and The Coalition of Broadway Unions and Guilds (COBUG).
"Broadway Salutes is a time to acknowledge the people who work behind the scenes and onstage, recognizing the incredible talent these dedicated artists, craftspeople, technicians and other professionals bring to the industry," said John Seid, from COBUG, in an earlier press statement.
"It is their hard work that provides countless hours of entertainment to both tourists and New Yorkers, and acts as a significant source of revenue to the New York City economy," he added. "We are proud to honor those who make our Broadway community extraordinary."
