The stars came out for a November 11 screening in New York City of the upcoming Netflix film Rustin, with Jeremy O. Harris and Marisa Tomei among the Hollywood and Broadway notables on hand to support the film's star, Broadway favorite Colman Domingo.

The Tony nominee stars as Bayard Rustin, the gay civil rights activist who organized the 1963 March on Washington in the new movie directed and written by five-time Tony winner George C. WolfeRustin will stream on Netflix November 17.

Rustin is the first feature film to come from the partnership between Netflix and President Barack and Michelle Obama's Higher Ground.

The cast also includes Chris Rock, Glynn Turman, Aml Ameen, Michael Potts, and Tony winners Jeffrey Wright, Adrienne Warren, Bill Irwin, and Audra McDonald.

Domingo is a Tony and Olivier nominee for his role in the 2011 musical The Scottsboro Boys. He won a 2022 Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series for his guest spot on the HBO Max series Euphoria. He will next be seen on screen as Mister in the film adaptation of the musical The Color Purple.

Fun Fact: In addition to his career as a political leader, Bayard Rustin was also an accomplished vocalist. As a young man, he appeared on Broadway in the ensemble of the short-lived 1940 musical John Henry, which starred Paul Robeson in the title role.
