The walls of Sardi's has gained a Broadway icon: Huey Lewis.

Sure, the man is best known as the leader of his band Huey Lewis and the News, but he starred as Billy Flynn in Broadway's Chicago in 2006, and the jukebox musical The Heart of Rock and Roll brought his band's songs to the James Earl Jones Theatre last season, so it's safe to say he counts.

Sardi's owner Max Klimavicius was on hand to unveil the special portrait, the work of the theatre district landmark's longtime caricaturist Richard Baratz. And several company members from The Heart of Rock and Roll were there to cheer him on, too, including Tamika Lawrence, F. Michael Haynie, Autumn Guzzardi, Taylor Marie Daniel, Josh Breckenridge, Michael Olaribigbe, Mike Baerga, Ross Lekites, and Robin Masella, along with book writer Jonathan A. Abrams, music director Brian Usifer, choreographer Lorin Latarro, and producers Hunter Arnold and Kayla Greenspan.

Sardi's has been offering food and drinks to the theatre community since 1921. Located in the heart of Broadway on 44th Street, caricatures of numerous Broadway luminaries adorn the walls, with those represented including Rex Harrison, Lucille Ball, Leonard Bernstein, James Earl Jones, Lauren Bacall, Whoopi Goldberg, Antonio Banderas, Hugh Jackman, Condola Rashad, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and more.
