Broadway’s Leading Ladies, a concert featuring an all-star cast of Broadway's women performers, will be presented March 10 at The Town Hall in New York City. Casting is to be announced.
PBS will film the evening, set to include Broadway royalty as well as the next generation of leading ladies. The concert will air on PBS on a date to be announced in 2025.
The performers will be backed by the American Pops Orchestra, conducted by Luke Frazier.
“PBS is delighted to partner on such an extraordinary and important evening, celebrating the best of Broadway’s leading ladies. PBS strives to present the best of the arts, sharing with the nation the importance of this incredible and uniquely American art form, musical theatre,” said Jerry Liwanag, vice president of fundraising strategy and programming for PBS, in a statement.
PBS, in partnership with No Guarantees and Nouveau Productions, will produce the concert. A portion of the ticket proceeds will benefit the Women’s Health Initiative at the Entertainment Community Fund, founded by the late Phyllis Newman.
