Is Big Fish ready for a big comeback? Industry readings of a newly revised version of the 2013 musical, based on the 2003 film and its source novel, will be held in NYC February 7. Patrick Wilson is leading the performance as Edward Bloom.

The cast also includes Jordan Donica as Will Bloom, Nikki Renée Daniels as Sandra Bloom, Hannah Cruz as Josephine Bloom, Alexander Gemignani as Amos Callaway, Nicholas Ward as Karl the Giant, Rema Webb as The Witch, Haven Burton as Jenny Hill, David Hull as Don Price, Mike Wartella as Zacky Price, Lance Roberts as Mayor and Dr. Bennett, and Emjay Roa as Young Will Bloom. Lauren Blackman, Trista Dollison, and Arianna Stucki complete the company.

Jerry Zaks is directing this time around. The show follows a son facing the impending death of his father while also trying to make sense of the wild, larger-than-life stories he often tells about his epic past. The musical played a brief Broadway run in 2013, with screenwriter John August adapting the book from his screenplay and Andrew Lippa providing music and lyrics. Both are still attached with this revised version.

Michael McFadden and Katy Lipson of TRW Production are producing, by special arrangement with Steve Spiegel of Theatrical Rights Worldwide (which licenses the title). The team is hoping to bring the project back to Broadway.
