Old Globe's Last Match Begins Performances | Playbill

News Old Globe's Last Match Begins Performances Performances begin Feb. 13 for The Old Globe's world premiere of The Last Match, Anna Ziegler's new play that takes place during the U.S. Open tennis semifinals. Soon-to-be-married stage and screen stars Patrick J. Adams ("Suits") and Troian Bellisario ("Pretty Little Liars") are among the cast.

The San Diego production is directed by Gaye Taylor Upchurch, with performances scheduled to run through March 13. Opening night is set for Feb. 18.

"As Russian phenom Sergei Sergeyev and American superstar Tim Porter do battle under the lights on center court, Galina and Mallory, the funny and complicated women who share their lives, watch anxiously from the sidelines," state Old Globe production notes. "But as the back-and-forth action unfolds, we journey into the minds of the players and the lives of the two couples in a fast-paced and moving exploration of family, parenthood, and the legacy we leave behind. Before it’s game, set, and match, more than a championship will be won or lost."

The cast also includes Alex Mickiewicz (Thérèse Raquin) and Natalia Payne (New Jerusalem).

The creative team includes Tim Mackabee (scenic design), Denitsa Bliznakova (costume design), Bradley King (lighting design), Bray Poor (sound design), David Huber (vocal coach), Caparelliotis Casting/Lauren Port, CSA (casting) and Diana Moser (production stage manager).

Last Match was developed at the Globe's 2014 New Voices Festival. The world-premiere engagement runs in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre. To purchase tickets and for more information, visit TheOldGlobe.org.
