Here I Am, a new musical by Samantha Roberts and Christian Cantrell set to premiere Off-Broadway at AMT Theater in Spring 2024, has announced its complete cast. Previews for the production will begin March 1, 2024, ahead of a March 8 opening night.
The modern love story is centered around social media, and the effect it has on interpersonal relationships and our self conception. Featuring an original book and score by Roberts and Cantrell, arrangements by Roberts, music supervision and orchestration by Cantrell, and direction by Roberts; the production is a true labor of two. Kent Sprague will serve as lighting designer, with Kimi Handa Brown as the associate director.
The cast will feature Roberts (Forget I Said Anything) as Scarlett, Jack Baugh (The Office: A Musical Parody) as Spencer, Cedrick Ekra (Powerline Road/ART) as Kyle, and SLee (Stranger Sings!) as Camryn.
Rounding out the ensemble will be Brittany Lowery, Jake Thatcher, Melody Munitz (American Girl: Live!), Rachel Madson, Laney Yoo, Jasmyn Johnson, Ebony Nixon, Christian Melhuish, T Anthony (SLACabaret: Down the Rabbit Hole), and Nikolai Granados.
“We are so excited to share this important story with the world!” said Roberts in a previous statement. "Here I Am is a story of many things, but most importantly, it is about redemption and forgiveness. Who is redeemable and deserving of love? Here I Am is beautiful, funny, dark, universal, and timely in an age of instant gratification.”
