The non-Equity North American tour of Mean Girls, the musical comedy adapted from Tina Fey's 2004 Paramount Pictures film of the same name, opens September 26 at the Landmark Theatre in Syracuse, New York, before playing the Kimmel Cultural Campus in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and various cities across North America. The company is led by Natalie Shaw as Cady Heron, Maya Petropoulos as Regina George, Kristen Amanda Smith as Gretchen Wieners, MaryRose Brendel as Karen Smith, Alexys Morera as Janis Sarkisian, Ethan Jih-Cook as Damian Hubbard, Kristen Seggio as Mrs. Heron/Ms. Norbury/Mrs. George, Joseph Torres as Aaron Samuels, Shawn Mathews as Kevin G, and Justin Phillips as Mr. Duvall.

The ensemble features Megan Arseneau, Thalia Atallah, Darius Aushay, Lucas Hallauer, Mikey Corey Hassel, Tyler Jung, Reagan Kennedy, Joi D. McCoy, Oshie Mellon, Victoria Mesa, Brandon Moreno, Jonah Nash, Justin O’Brien, Mikaela Rada, Emily Ann Stys, and Ryan Vogt.

Mean Girls, which features a book by Tina Fey, music by Jeff Richmond, and lyrics by Nell Benjamin, made its world premiere in 2017 at the National Theatre in Washington, D.C., and subsequently opened on Broadway in April 2018. Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon) directed and choreographed the original Broadway production, which was nominated for 12 2018 Tony Awards.

The musical follows Cady Heron, who grew up on an African savanna and moves to suburban Illinois, where she takes on The Plastics, a trio of frenemies led by the charming but ruthless Regina George.

The tour, directed by Casey Hushion and choreographed by John MacInnis, is based on the original Broadway direction and choreography and also features set design by Scott Pask, costume design by Gregg Barnes, lighting design by Kenneth Posner, sound design by Brian Ronan, hair design by Josh Marquette, makeup design by Milagros Medina-Cerdeira, music supervision by Mary-Mitchell Campbell, vocal arrangements by Campbell, Richmond, and Natalie Tenenbaum, orchestrations by John Clancy, dance and incidental musical arrangements by Glen Kelly, music coordination by John Mezzio, and casting by The Telsey Office.

The production stage manager is Emily Kritzman with assistant stage manager Kathleen Carragee, company manager Liam Millward, and assistant company manager Michael Tang. The tour music director/conductor is Julius LaFlamme.

A film adaptation of the musical is in development with Paramount Pictures, and details for a London bow are being finalized.
