The plot of the original film, set on a yacht in the Mediterranean, ensnares a group of well-heeled guests for a puzzle-filled scavenger hunt over the course of a weekend. Herbert Ross directed the original, which had a screenplay by Perkins and Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning composer-lyricist Sondheim. Producer Beau Flynn ("Requiem for a Dream") is attached to the remake. Dates of production and a director have not been revealed.
The original film featured Raquel Welch, Richard Benjamin, James Coburn, Dyan Cannon, James Mason, Ian McShane and more. Cannon's character Christine was famously based on late Hollywood agent Sue Mengers.
