The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra and The Muny join forces October 2 for a concert honoring the late Stephen Sondheim: A Little Sondheim Music is presented at St. Louis' Powell Hall at 3 PM.
Muny Artistic Director and Executive Mike Isaacson host the afternoon with musical staging by Michael Baxter. Muny veteran Ben Whiteley is the conductor.
Attendees can expect to hear selections from Merrily We Roll Along, Into the Woods, Follies, A Little Night Music, Company, Sweeney Todd, andmore.
Surrounded by period-accurate, 19th-century holiday decorations lit via candlelight, the 70-minute production is based on Dickens' own script of the classic.
The play comes on the heels of a broader cultural conversation about Dahl's work and the prejudice that was embedded in many of his most beloved stories.
