Emma Lively and Tyler Beattie's musical, which premiered at Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre in 2020, follows four unconventional princesses as they escape their sheltered lives and set off on a journey that will change them forever. Since the Seattle debut, a workshop of Bliss was held in Manhattan, and several songs from the show have been released on social media.
"Awake at Midnight," the finale of the musical, features the talents of Alex Branton, Kayla Davion, Lissa deGuzman, Jovan E’Sean, Katy Geraghty, Lauryn Hobbs, Gizel Jiménez, John-Michael Lyles, Claire Manship, Claire Neumann, JJ Niemann, Veronica Otim, Conor Ryan, and Scarlett Walker.
The world premiere was directed by Tony nominee Sheryl Kaller and also featured choreography by Josh Prince, scenic design by Jason Ardizzone-West, lighting design by Yael Lubetzky, costume design by Tony winner Paloma Young, sound design by Tony winner Nevin Steinberg, hair and wig design by Matthew Armentrout, and music supervision by Mary-Mitchell Campbell.
