New York City actors—including a few Broadway names—bring to life bedtime stories written by children in the new web series Lip Sync Fables. Hosted, created, and directed by David Gow, the six-episode season premieres July 21 with new 10-minute episodes released every Thursday through August 25. Watch the trailer above.
The cast includes Kennedy Kanagawa, currently starring as Milky White in the Broadway revival of Into the Woods; JJ Niemann, who has been a swing in Book of Mormon since 2017; Darius Jordan Lee and Joshua Morgan from Ain't Too Proud; and Dorcas Leung, who was the Gigi replacement in the 2017 revival of Miss Saigon.
The show's core cast includes Catherine Cohen (The Twist?.... She's Gorgeous), Brian Muller (Bridge & Tunnel), and Courtnee Carter, who stars in the Billy Porter-directed Prime Video movie Anything's Possible.
The cast also includes Gus Halper (Fear of the Walking Dead), Marija Abney (Black Panther), Meagan Smith (Other Two), Charles Osborne (The Chambers), Hassiem Muhammad (Blue Bloods), Nicola Gorham (High Maintenance), Samaria Nixon-Fleming (Prodigal Son), Lauren Karaman (Project Runway), Will Porter, Katie Ailion, and Billy Cohen, who starred in the national tour of The Band's Visit.
Episodes are written by Annalise Bergen, Kate Sanchez, Max Rice, Lily and Orchid Miller, William McWhorter and Sunny Lerman, who all are between the ages of five and nine.
