Produced by and benefitting Dancers Responding to AIDS, a program of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, the annual event has raised over $3.3 million.
Mitchell (Broadway Bares, Kinky Boots, Hairspray, Legally Blonde) and Keigwin co-host the event that promises a mix of Broadway, ballet, Hawaiian and modern dance.
Among the pieces offered will be Standard Time on July 18. Presented by Mark Stuart Dance Theatre, the work is billed as a Broadway-bound dance musical that features "hits from the 1930s, 1960s and 2000s performed by 14 dancers, four vocalists and a six-piece band." It is characterized as a "celebration of love's power to defy social barriers."
Also planned are performances from Ailey II ("Wade in the Water" from Revelations); BalletCollective (a new work choreographed by Troy Schumacher); Kristine Bendul, David Elder and Ryan Worsing ("In the Garden" from Broadway Bares by the late Arte Phillips); Complexions Contemporary Ballet (a piece choreographed by Marcelo Gomes with an original score by Ian Ng); Marcelo Gomes (performing from Romeo and Juliet with Luciana Paris); Nick Kenkel (premiering an energetic, Afropop-infused group number); Sara Mearns (in a new work created Josh Bergasse); MOMIX ("Man Fan," a male solo using a 22-foot-tall fan in a duet with the wind); Nā Lei Hulu I Ka Wēkiu (sharing the cultural richness of Hawaii through hula dance); and Desmond Richardson (performing "Moonlight").
