The New York Post reports that Craig (Betrayal) is in talks to star as Iago in a production of Shakespeare's Othello at the New York Theatre Workshop in spring 2016. A director and dates of production are not set. In an interview with DuJour, Craig stated that he wasn't interested in returning to Broadway. "I'd like to do some theater in New York. I've done Broadway and I was happy with that, but I don't want to do Broadway anymore," he said. "The audience is all over 50, on the whole, and I think new faces and cheaper tickets are the only way forward. And it’s never going to happen."
NYTW's fall production will be Lazarus, the new stage collaboration from David Bowie and Enda Walsh. Also planned for 2016 are Lucas Hnath's Red Speedo and Anaïs Mitchell's Hadestown. The latter productions have not revealed dates.
In addition to his 2013 run in Betrayal, Craig also appeared on Broadway alongside Hugh Jackman in the 2009 cop drama A Steady Rain.
