Off-Broadway News Hotel Happy Officially Opens World Premiere Off-Broadway February 18

Colombian sex tourism and a life-size donkey factor into this new work from playwright Camilo Almonacid.

The world premiere of Camilo Almonacid's Hotel Happy officially opens at 122CC's 2nd Floor Theater Off-Broadway February 18 after beginning previews February 14 via Houses on the Moon Theater Company. The run will continue through March 3.

The new work is set at a "high-end erotic resort" in Bogotá, Colombia, where three sex workers are hiding a donkey from three American mercenaries on a special mission.

The cast features Annelise Cepero as Candela, Michael Frederic as Ron, Yadira Guevara Prip as Lulu, Ed Herbstman as John, Eddie McGee as Bob, Isabella Orrego as Sofi, and Lidia Porto as Madame Carlotta.

Estefanía Fadul is directing, with Matt Acheson (War Horse) as puppet director.

The production also has scenic design by Tanya Orellana, lighting design by Carolina Ortiz Herrera, costume design by Haydee Zelideth Antuñano, and sound design by Daniela Hart, Bailey Trierweiler, Noel Nichols, and UptownWorks.

Jamie Rose Bukowski is production stage manager, and Bleu Zephra Santiago is assistant stage manager. Weathervane Theatre is serving as associate producer.
