Walnut Street Theatre's production of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical begins performances March 26, with opening night set for April 3. Beautiful features a book by Douglas McGrath, with music and lyrics by King, Gerry Goffin, Barry Mann, and Cynthia Weil. Richard Stafford serves as director and choreographer.
Sheperd, who also played King in the musical's national tour, is joined in the Walnut Street cast by Sabrina Profitt as Genie Klein, Fran Prisco as Don Kirshner, Matthew Amira as Gerry Goffin, Kathryn Boswell as Cynthia Weil, and Eddie Olmo II as Barry Mann. The company also includes Chali Cooke, Dana Orange, Samantha Roche, Audrey Biehl Simmons, Devon Sinclair, Sierra Wilson, Willie Clyde Beaton II, Tommy Betz, Anne Bragg, Cornelius Davis, Kourtney Keitt, Ryan Kleinman, Josiah Jacoby, and Mikayla Nelson.
The creative team also includes music and vocal director Chris Burcheri, scenic designer Roman Tatarowicz, lighting designer Alyssandra Docherty, sound designer John Kolbinski, costume designer Mary Folino, wig designer Carissa Thorlakson, and stage managers Patrick David Egan and Michele Begley.
