Inside the rehearsal room, Tony nominee Christiane Noll (Ragtime), David Burtka (Gypsy), Carey Cox (The Glass Menagerie), and film actor Gabe Fazio (A Star is Born) are preparing to play the two New York couples of Yasmina Reza's Tony-winning play God of Carnage. Presented by Off-Broadway theatre company Theater Breaking Through Barriers (TBTB), the work will begin previews for its Off-Broadway debut April 18. The show will open April 27 and play through May 20 at Theatre Row.
Translated by Christopher Hampton, God of Carnage follows two New York couples who meet to talk out an unfortunate incident concerning their children. Though things begin with civility, the night wears on and veneers of politeness crack.
Serving on the creative team are director Nicholas Viselli, set designer Bert Scott, lights and projection designer Samuel J. Biondolillo, and costume designer Olivia V. Hern. Casting is by Andrea Zee of Zee Casting.
TBTB is dedicated to advancing artists and developing audiences of people with disabilities. The production will include supertitles and audio description to make every performance fully accessible.
