The Tony- and Olivier-winning musical Once On This Island features a book and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens with music by Stephen Flaherty. Based on the novel My Love, My Love by Rosa Guy, Once On This Island follows Ti Moune, a peasant girl living on a Caribbean island, and a boy called Daniel. Prejudice forbids the connection they form, but can Ti Moune win against a wager against the Gods that love is more powerful than death? Ince described the musical in a statement as "a poignant, moving, and politically charged."
