Beginning June 15, the 2019 West End stage production of Phoebe Waller-Bridge's Fleabag will return to cinemas via its National Theatre Live filming. The broadcast will be presented in cinemas globally.
Waller-Bridge (Killing Eve) wrote and performed the work first as a play at Edinburgh Fringe Festival's Underbelly in 2013 where it won a Fringe First. The play follows Fleabag, a rather conceited and lascivious woman who can't filter her emotions. But as her relationships falter and the guinea pig café struggles, she finds she has nothing left to lose.
Fleabag developed out of a challenge from one of Waller-Bridge's friends to write a 10-minute sketch for a stand-up night. Following its debut at the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe, it then transferred to London’s Soho Theatre. BBC Three and Amazon then co-produced a TV series adaptation of the show, which ran from 2016-2019. Waller-Bridge then brought the solo play back to the stage under the direction of Vicky Jones (Run).

The 2019 production which will be broadcast features set design by Holly Pigott, lighting design by Elliot Griggs, and sound design by Isobel Waller-Bridge.
This production is presented by DryWrite, Soho Theatre, and Annapurna Theatre.
