Ferry's Landing NYC, a new entertainment destination, will open this fall at The Duplex in the West Village. The experience will reopen The Duplex's upstairs cabaret space, which has been closed due to fire damage since 2022.
The Fire Island-themed space will include three main attractions—an original stage show, a cabaret performance, and a dance party. Performances will begin October 15, and continue through January 5, 2025.
The first attraction, Little House on the Ferry – The Musical, features a book, music, and lyrics by Rob Gould, with direction by Victoria Rae Sook. The work follows a group of friends meeting up on Fire Island for a weekend, with the marriage equality vote in the New York Senate looming. Casting will be announced at a later date.
The space will also feature the Fire Island Follies, a nautical cabaret with cirque stars, comedy, and powerful vocals; and Farandole, an after-hours dance party with a DJ and go-go dancers.
“I’ve wanted this kind of entertainment in our space for the past 30 years," Tony DeCicco, owner of The Duplex, said in a statement. "The Duplex has been the launchpad for many great performers and shows. We are so excited to be restoring our cabaret space after such a long and tragic absence with Ferry's Landing NYC."
Ferry's Landing NYC is produced by Gould and Fever Labs with First You Dream and Ripple Effect Artists. Anthony Francavilla of FORM Theatricals serves as general manager. The producing team also includes Benjamin Feldman (Pippin, Company) and Julian R. Decker (Les Misérables, Sunset Boulevard, Love Never Dies).
