American hard rock band Black Veil Brides continues to pay tribute to the Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler musical Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, this time with an exclusive cover of "My Friends."
Led by frontman Andy Biersack, the band honors the classic musical with a (relatively) stripped down music video of the haunting ballad. The video is the second released by the band in connection to their new EP Bleeders, which is distinctly inspired by the musical's original Broadway production and the 2007 Tim Burton-directed film adaptation. Check out the "My Friends" music video above, and read on to hear from Biersack and see new photos of him in character as the Demon Barber.

Said Biersack, "From the first time I picked up my Dad’s copy of the original cast recording and heard Len Cariou’s powerful and sinister portrayal of Sweeney, I was hooked on this show. As a little kid I would insist that all my family gather around and watch me perform songs like 'My Friends' in my full homemade costume. It’s beyond a dream come true to get to do a rendition of this song and collaborate with our longtime friend and visionary director, Joshua Shultz, on the video. We wanted to do something that felt true to the spirit of the original and all subsequent iterations while also feeling distinctly Black Veil Brides and we are thrilled with how it turned out."
The bands three-track EP includes the faithful cover, the title track "Bleeders," and a cover of U2's "Sunday Bloody Sunday." The record is Black Veil Brides’ inaugural release in a new partnership with Spinefarm. In connection with the record's bloody inspiration, the band is encouraging fans to donate blood to the Red Cross.
