The Twenty-Sided Tavern, the officially licensed Dungeons & Dragons live experience, will welcome tabletop RPG all-stars Felicia Day, Aabria Iyengar, and Erika Ishii for three special limited engagements later this year.
Day, an award-winning actor, writer, and geek icon, is best known for her work in the digital space, where she created and starred in the award-winning web series The Guild and co-starred in Joss Whedon’s Emmy-winning musical Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. “I've loved D&D and theatre my whole life,” shared Day. “I can't wait to combine the two and participate in this amazing production.” Day will join the Tavern September 19–24.
Iyengar, known for her storytelling in popular TTRPG Actual Play streams such as Critical Role, Dimension 20, and Worlds Beyond Number, says, "The joy of tabletop games like D&D comes from the surprise and delight of improvisation. The Twenty-Sided Tavern is a leap forward in how collaborative storytelling can drive wonderful and unique experiences, and I can't wait to share the fun with this audience!” Iyengar will play along September 26–October 7.
Ishii, celebrated for their podcast as well as performances in Dragon Age: The Veilguard and various Dropout TV originals, states, “I’ve had the immense fortune to be part of actual play shows that allowed me to collaborate on telling the stories I wanted to see in the world. I am so excited that being part of The Twenty-Sided Tavern allows our audience to be a part of that narrative!” Ishii will join the party December 5–17.

The Twenty-Sided Tavern officially opened its premiere Off-Broadway at Stage 42 May 5 after beginning previews April 19. The production unites Hasbro, Curious Hedgehog, Showpath Entertainment, and Wizards of the Coast to bring the tabletop adventure game to the stage.
The Twenty-Sided Tavern is an improvised quest play. Relying on audience participation, each performance is uniquely tailored to decisions made by audience members on their phones using patented software from Gamiotics. Audience members choose which characters will appear each evening, as well as which paths they will take, and which decisions they will make along the journey. The in-mobile-browser platform does not require any special equipment, instead running on audience members' phones.
The show premiered at The Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera, later playing runs in Chicago and at Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
While the production naturally appeals to Dungeons & Dragons players, knowledge of the tabletop role-play world is not required, as the structure of the game is communicated within the show.
Created by David Andrew Laws, Sarah Reynolds, and David Carpenter, The Twenty-Sided Tavern is written by Laws. The game design is by Reynolds.
