The star-studded lineup of performers for the New York Pops birthday gala has been revealed. The event celebrating the renowned orchestra's 41st season will also honor record industry executive Clive Davis. It will be held April 29 at Carnegie Hall.
The evening will feature performances showcasing Davis' impact on the worlds of pop, rock and roll, R&B, country, and hip-hop. Guest artists will include Babyface, Toni Braxton, Busta Rhymes, Deborah Cox, Fantasia Barrino Taylor, Kenny G, Melissa Manchester, Barry Manilow, John Mellencamp, Ray Parker Jr., Rob Thomas, Carlos Santana, and Dionne Warwick. Steven Reineke will serve as music director and conductor.
Proceeds from the gala will support the orchestra and its PopsEd music education programs. The concert will be followed by a black tie optional dinner and dance at the Mandarin Oriental New York.
