
Tennant, who plays Benedick, was last seen on the London stage in the title role of the RSC's production of Hamlet. He is best known for playing the tenth incarnation of the title role of TV's "Dr. Who," but his extensive prior stage credits include seasons with the RSC, for whom he has appeared in As You Like It, The Herbal Bed, The Comedy of Errors, Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night's Dream and Love's Labour's Lost in addition to Hamlet. His film credits include "LA Without a Map," "Bright Young Things," "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire," "St Trinian's II: The Legend of Fritton's Gold" and the forthcoming "Fright Night" and "The Decoy Bride." He has most recently been seen playing the title character in the BBC's "Single Father," and next year he will play Jimmy Murphy in BBC television's "United."
Tate, who plays Beatrice, was recently seen onstage in the National Theatre’s production of Season's Greetings. Her own TV sketch show "The Catherine Tate Show" has had three successful seasons on the BBC, and she has previously appeared opposite Tennant as the Doctor's companion in the fourth series of "Dr. Who." She was last seen in the West End in David Eldridge's Under the Blue Sky.
