Danny Gardner, who starred in Broadway’s Dames at Sea, will headline the Marriott Theatre production of Singin’ in the Rain, which begins performances October 26 in Lincolnshire, IL.

Featuring a score by Nacio Herb Brown, lyrics by Arthur Freed and a book by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, Singin’ in the Rain will feature direction by William Brown, choreography by Tammy Mader and musical direction by Ryan T. Nelson.

The musical will open November 2 for a run through December 31.

Gardner, who will star as Don Lockwood, will be joined by Mary Michael Patterson (The Phantom of the Opera, Anything Goes) as Kathy Seldon, Richard Riaz Yoder (Shuffle Along, On the Twentieth Century, Irving Berlin’s White Christmas) as Cosmo Brown, Alexandra Palkovic as Lina Lamont, Jason Grimm as R.F. Simpson and Gabriel Ruiz as Roscoe Dexter.

Rounding out the cast are Lamont Brown, Annie Jo Ermel, Jackson Evans, Sean Michael Hunt, Danielle Jackman, Ian Liberto, Mandy Modic, Thomas Ortiz, Katheryn Patton, Collin Sanderson, Catherine Smitko, Brandon Springman, Richard Strimer, Amanda Tanguay and Jessica Wolfrum.

Here’s how Mariott bills the musical: “It’s 1927 and movie icons Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont are the darlings of the silent silver screen and the biggest stars at Monumental Studios. But with the arrival of motion-picture sound, the studio has no choice but to turn their latest Lockwood and Lamont silent film, The Dueling Cavalier, into a musical. The only problem? Lina’s disastrously grating voice. Chaos ensues as the studio brings in the beautiful Kathy Selden, whose silvery voice is able to cover Lamont’s, sparking a romance between the aspiring actress and the dashing Lockwood.”

The production will feature set design by Tom Ryan, costume design by Nancy Missimi, lighting design by Jesse Klug, sound design by Bob Gilmartin, properties design by Sally Weiss and musical supervision by Patti Garwood (who will also conduct the orchestra).

The Marriott Theatre is located at 10 Marriott Drive in Lincolnshire, IL. For more information and tickets, visit MarriottTheatre.com.
