Complete casting has been announced for the return of Elf The Musical, which will play Boston and New York this holiday season as part of a national tour that launches November 6 in York, Pennsylvania.
The production will play Boston’s Wang Theatre November 28–December 10 prior to a New York City run at the Theater at Madison Square Garden December 13–29.
As previously announced, Emmy Award winner George Wendt (Cheers) will play Santa in the Boston and New York engagements of the tour. Ken Clement will play Santa in all other tour stops.
The tour will also feature Erik Gratton (Buddy), Bernard Dotson (Store Manager), Cynthia Ferrer (Emily), Veronica J. Kuehn (Jovie), Trey Middleton (Michael), Ruth Pferdehirt (Deb), Christopher M. Russo (Walter), and Danny Rutigliano (Mr. Greenway) with Darren Biggart, Allyson Carr, Allyson Kaye Daniel, Paul Ianniello, Eric Anthony Johnson, Chandon Jones, Drew King, Andrew Kruep, Emily Larger, Eric Jon Mahlum, Frankie Paparone, Emily Jeanne Phillips, Shaun Repetto, Wyatt Rogers, Morgan Rose, and Emily Grace Tucker.
Elf features songs by Tony Award nominees Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin (The Wedding Singer), with a book by the late Thomas Meehan (Annie, The Producers, Hairspray) and Bob Martin (The Drowsy Chaperone).
The production will feature direction by Sam Scalamoni and choreography by Connor Gallagher. Casting is by Stewart/Whitley.
The stage musical version of Elf premiered on Broadway at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre in 2010, where it returned for an encore holiday run in 2012. A touring production previously played the Theater at Madison Square Garden in 2015. The property was also adapted into a 40-minute stop-animation television musical special for NBC in 2014.
