Songbook Sundays, a concert series celebrating the American Songbook created and hosted by Deborah Grace Winer, will continue October 13 at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Dizzy's Club. The latest installment, Heart and Soul and Hoagy Carmichael, will be presented at 5 PM and 7:30 PM.
The evening will feature Tony nominee Christine Andreas, Tony nominee Kenita Miller, and Jazz at Lincoln Center rising star Christian Wiggs. The trio will perform a set of songs from Hoagy Carmichael, including "Heart and Soul," "Stardust," "Georgia on My Mind," and more.
Music director Ted Rosenthal will lead a band including Jayla Chee on bass, Christian X.M. McGhee on drums, and Sarah Hanahan on alto saxophone.
“We’ve made Dizzy’s Songbook Sundays our 'happy place' in this chaotic world; a place where audience and performers can be together, revel in each other’s company and celebrate what really makes life worthwhile," Winer said in a statement. "Every other month, we gather for great music, and great community.”
