Broadway favorites Christian Borle, Krysta Rodriguez, and Ephraim Sykes will lead the upcoming Kennedy Center production of Bye Bye Birdie, performing at the D.C. venue June 7-15 in the Eisenhower Theater. Marc Bruni is directing the revival, part of the Center's Broadway Center Stage series.

Borle will play music executive Albert Peterson, with Rodriguez as his sweetheart and secretary Rosie Alvarez. Sykes will play Elvis stand-in Conrad Birdie, descending upon Sweet Apple, Ohio, for "One Last Kiss" before answering a draft and joining the Army. The 1960 musical—featuring music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Lee Adams, and a book by Michael Stewart—is inspired by a similar real-life story with Elvis, with the musical parodying the screaming teen fans and bewildered parents in the rock-n-roll icon's orbit.

Denis Jones will choreograph, with additional cast and creative team members to be announced.

“After a four year postponement from March 2020, what a thrill it is to finally be producing the joyous Bye Bye Birdie for Broadway Center Stage! With Marc Bruni and Denis Jones—who did such great work with our Guys and Dolls in 2022—alongside this starry Broadway cast, the show could not be in the better hands,” says series Artistic Director Jeffrey Finn in a statement.

The series presented tick, tick...BOOM! earlier this year, in a new production directed by Neil Patrick Harris; and will conclude its 2024 season with Maury Yeston and Arthur Kopit's Nine in August.
