
Cause Celebrè presents the the 80-minute play that will begin performances Aug. 2 under the direction of Antony Marsellis. The Pretty Trap will play through Aug. 21 at the Acorn Theatre.
Houghton ("Guess Who's Coming to Dinner," Our Town) will portray Amanda Wingfield, the role famously played by her aunt, the late Katharine Hepburn, in the 1973 television adaptation of The Glass Menagerie.
Rounding out the cast are Eli (Tartuffe, Saturn Returns) as Jim O'Connor the Gentleman Caller, Sturgis (39 Steps) as Laura and Dunn (The Foreigner) as Tom.
Cause Celebrè bills the Off-Broadway engagement as the New York premiere of The Pretty Trap. It will run in repertory with Susan Charlotte's The Shoemaker, which stars Danny Aiello, Alma Cuervo and Lucy Devito. Performances will begin July 14.
