Off-Broadway News Caroline Aaron, Matt Doyle Will Star in Conversations With Mother Off-Broadway

The new semi-autobiographical work from Matthew Lombardo centers on a mother and her gay son over five decades.

Matthew Lombardo's new semi-autobiographical play Conversations With Mother will play Off-Broadway's Theatre 555 in 2025. The strictly limited run will begun February 7, 2025 and officially open February 23, continuing through May 7.

Starring in the two-hander will be The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star Caroline Aaron and Tony winner Matt Doyle. Casting is by Nick Peciaro.

The work follows Italian matriarch Maria Collavechio (Aaron) and her gay son (Doyle) over five decades.

Noah Himmelstein is directing, with further creative team members to be announced. Bryan McCaffrey, BPM Theatrical and Laura Z. Barket, and Theatre Nerd Productions are producing, with Showtown Productions' Nathan Gehan and Jamison Scott serving as executive producers.
