Tony nominee Carolee Carmello (Sweeney Todd, Parade), Kenita Miller (Once On This Island, The Color Purple), Charlotte Maltby (The Secret Garden, The Sound of Music), and Charles Franklin (The Book of Mormon, The Secret Garden) will headline back to back concert performances of Maltby and Shire’s Baby on March 18 to raise funds for Planned Parenthood.
Written by lyricist Richard Maltby Jr. and composer David Shire, the Tony-nominated 1984 musical follows three expecting couples as they face parenthood at different stages in their lives. Baby features a book by Sybille Pearson.

Maltby directed the original Broadway production of Baby, and returns to stage the concerts that will take place at Feinstein’s/54 Below at 7 PM and 9:30 PM.
The show will have special meaning when Broadway actor Charlotte Maltby performs “The Story Goes On,” the thrilling centerpiece of the show’s score, which was written by her father 30 years ago. Charlotte Maltby plays Lizzie, opposite Franklin as Danny, with Carmello as Arlene, and Miller as Pam.
Casting for the roles of Nick and Alan will be announced shortly. The ensemble will feature Jorge Barranco, Marc Koeck, Scott Mikita, Jenna Pasqua, Jennifer Smith, and Rebecca Spigelman.
Robert W. Schneider produces the concert. The show will be music directed by Deniz Cordell.
